Alexander died during the first Luftwaffe raid on Belfast when he and other workers mistook a parachute mine for an German parachutist. Seven men in total were killed when the mine exploded at Harland & Wolff’s Alexandra Works.
He was the son of John and Mary Hagans and husband of Mary and he is buried int Dundonald Cemetery.
