Known as Bennie, he was killed by a bomb explosion at 263 York Street, which was the home of his fiancé Maisie Moore, during the Easter Tuesday Raid.
His body was taken to St George's Market where he was identified by his brother.
Bennie is buried in Carnmoney Cemetery next to Maisie.
