David was killed by enemy action at his home on Eastland Street during the Easter Tuesday Raid. His uncle and cousin, both called William Wallace, were also killed and his mother, Annie, sustained fatal injuries in the same incident.
He is buried with his mother, uncle and cousin at Belfast City Cemetery.
