David was presumed dead as a ‘consequence of war operations’ at an inquest held at Belfast City Hall on 19 June 1941.
He lost his life when 95 Blythe Street was hit by a bomb during the Easter Tuesday Raid. His sisters Mary Jane and Violet, nephews David, John and Ernest and nieces Vera and Ella were also killed.
Sarah Thompson is also recorded as being killed by enemy action at 95 Blythe Street during the Easter Tuesday Raid.
