Known as Jim, he was presumed dead as a ‘consequence of war operations’ at an inquest held at Belfast City Hall on 19 June 1941.
He was killed by enemy action at the home of his neighbours, the Clarkes on Ballynure Street during the Easter Tuesday Raid.
His mother Emily and siblings Samuel, Margaret, Sarah and William were also killed in this incident along with the Clarke and Thompson family.
Jim has no known grave.
