James McFarlane lost his life when a delayed action bomb exploded at Witham Street on the morning of the 5th May 1941.
His wife and father-in-law were seriously injured and his mother-in-law Jane was also killed in the blast.
James’ body was taken to St George’s Market where he was identified by his father-in-law.
He is buried at Dundonald Cemetery,
