Gunner John Brown was killed when a gun emplacement on East Twin Island was hit by a high explosive.

He and two others from his unit, 175 Battery, 66th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, were killed along with six members of 9th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment.

Gunner Brown is buried at Movilla Cemetery, Newtownards.
