John Fisher was found in an air raid shelter in Millfield on the 7 May 1941. His death certificate states that he died of 'probable sudden cardiac failure following exposure to cold when in run down condition.'
John suffered from shell shock and the air raids in May 1941 triggered his condition that ultimately led to his death.
