Fusilier Love was killed when a high explosive bomb landed amongst the huts of 70th (Young Soldiers) Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers at Newtownards Airfield. Thirteen soldiers lost their lives and several more were injured.
He was the husband of Frances Gertrude Love and he is buried in Carlton Cemetery, Nottingham.
