Lily lost her life during the Easter Tuesday Raid at her home on Dock Street along with her children Ernest, Peggy and David. The Carter family were also killed in this incident.
Her body was taken to St George’s Market where she was identified by her mother.
She was the daughter of Mrs J. Harris and wife of Ernest Edward Bothwell and she is buried in Knockbreda Cemetery with her family.
