Constable Martin Robert Armstrong was seriously injured when Glenravel Street RUC barracks received a direct hit.
He later died in the Mater Hospital. Four other police officers also lost their lives in this incident.
He was the son of John and Anna Armstrong of Tevenaman, Billis, Virginia, Co. Cavan, Eire.
