Robert was killed when a parachute mine struck the spire of Trinity Street Church during the Easter Tuesday Raid.

His colleagues of ARP Post 396, Kathleen, Maurice, Sean, Rory, Thomas and Eileen were also killed in this incident.

Robert’s body was taken to St George’s Market where he was identified by his father.

He is buried in Umgall Burial Ground.
