Vera was presumed dead as a ‘consequence of war operations’ at an inquest held at Belfast City Hall on 19 June 1941.

She lost her life when 95 Blythe Street was hit by a bomb during the Easter Tuesday Raid. Her mother Violet, sister Ella, aunt Mary Jane, uncle David and cousins David, John and Ernest were also killed.

Sarah Thompson is also recorded as being killed by enemy action at 95 Blythe Street during the Easter Tuesday Raid.
